Thank you for visiting my web site. I am Fred Glaser,
currently a second grade teacher in Pittsburg. I first thought of creating
this web site when I was contemplating applying for the CCTOP grant. I
envisioned a field trip web site for Contra Costa County teachers in which
a variety of field trip sights were listed with pertinent information.
In addition, I wanted these sights to include science and social 
studies
standards for the state of California. I also wished to include a variety
of places for teachers to take field trips so that whether they taught
in Richmond, Walnut Creek or Brentwood, there would be field trip sights
nearby. The field trip destinations that I chose were selected because
they met some of the standards for science and/or social studies. Each
sight was visited by me during 2001. I also took all of the pictures that
you see on my web site. Creating this web site was an enjoyable learning
experience, and I hope that teachers find the field trip web site helpful.
I know there are other field trip destinations. Some I don't know about
yet, and others I left off of my list because they didn't fit into the
science or social studies standards for first, second, and third grades.
I am counting on teachers to let me know of other sights so that I can
include them here. In addition, I will be adding more information as I
get it.
