Timeline	Progress Checkpoint	Objectives
Week 1	Introduce project. Instruction on appropriate Internet usage and research. Introduce available resources.	Students will research Native American tribes using the Internet.
Week 2	Assign group members and tribe topics. Review student research guide and rubrics. Begin Internet research.	Students will work cooperatively to gather information and take notes.
Week 3	Check student and group progress. Make presentation materials available.	Students will create presentation boards including pictures, graphics, and genreal tribe information. Students will meet with the teacher to provide a progress update.
Week 4	Completion of presentation materials. Group presentation practice.	Students will practice their oral presentations
Week 5	Group presentations. Assess student group presentations using rubrics.	Students will give their oral reports including solutions to their tribe's problem.
