Ever wonder if anyone reads the evaluations that are written and turned in at the end of a conference? Changes to the Saturday night program are a direct result of evaluations and suggestions that were written last year. Several people commented that they would like more opportunities to meet other teachers and to have a chance to get to know what is happening in other schools and districts. Other comments suggested that a lighter format for Saturday evening would be appreciated. After a rewarding but intense day, some participants felt that listening to a talk or presentation was difficult. We read your ideas and decided to act upon them. The “Around the Hearth” on Saturday Night will be different from the last few years. There will be no general session this year on Saturday evening. This year’s schedule includes a film noir, a Taylor Mali DVD, an Open Mic session, a report of the state of education, and a Board Games session. Some board games will be provided, but to insure that you can play your favorite game, bring your own board game; certainly you will find eager participants to join you.
